Jo Jarman

I was appointed as Parish Clerk to Avon Dassett Parish Council in May 2022, being new to the sector. 

I live in Rugby and am a retired Chartered Accountant. I ran my own small practice for 20 years, leaving in 2015 to become the Finance Manager and Deputy CEO at New Directions (Rugby), a local charity that supports adults with learning disabilties.  I left this role in April 2022 but rejoined the Board of Trustees (having previously resigned in order to join the management team); I have a significant interest in the world of learning disablity as my sister has Down's Syndrome and is supported by New Directions.  I am also a Trustee at a further education college for students with learning disabilities.

I have always undertaken volunteering roles within the community, including being a past Chair of Governors at a local primary school. 

My skills include finance, governance, leadership and management.

Outside of work my interests include my dogs and patchwork; I am also an occasional golfer.
