Our Village

Avon Dassett is a Parish of approximately 220 people occupying about 100 properties. It is in the Parliamentary constituency of Kenilworth & Southam. We are part of the Kineton ward for Warwickshire County Council and Red Horse Vale for Stratford on Avon District Council.

It is situated within a Conservation Area and is on the edge of the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village nestles on the slopes of the Burton Dassett Hills Country Park and combines spectacular scenery with the peace and beauty of a small rural village.

The village is on a number of walking and cycling routes and is easily accessed from two major roads, the B4100 and the A423. There are major employers in close proximity including Aston Martin and Jaguar Land Rover at Gaydon and Jacobs Douwe Egberts, and many others in food production, manufacturing and the motor sports industries in and around Banbury.

The Yew Tree is the only sizeable amenity in the village of Avon Dassett, the village does not have a shop, school, doctors surgery or any other social amenity. The village has a small Reading Room which is used for meetings and also for the provision of a Post Office on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9.15am until 10am.
