Responsibilities:
I have lived in Avon Dassett since March 2014 and quickly became an active member of the community. I joined the Parish Council in 2015 and was appointed Chair in March 2023. In addition, I was a founding member of the Community Benefit Society, which bought and owns the Yew Tree pub.
As part of my current Parish Council responsibilities I represent the Parish Council on the Warwickshire Association of Local Councils and the Warwickshire County Council's Town and Parish Council liaison group.
Prior to moving to Avon Dassett, I spent around 40 years working as an accountant and management consultant, latterly in business development and sales. I retired from full time work in 2014 from an American IT company where I headed their Public Sector consultancy team. Most of my working life has been focused on the Public Sector and has included Local and Central Government as well as Health and International Government Agencies.
After retiring I have been an Independent Member of the Audit Committee of the charity Scope and acted as a consultant to an international law firm to establish a UK management consultancy practice.
As a Councillor, I try to use my skills, knowledge and experience for the benefit of the community. I recognise the importance of maintaining a vibrant community and support the maintenance of a high standard of village environment and work to ensure that public assets are maintained to the highest possible standards.
My interests are gardening, walking, sailing and rugby. I am a member of Kenilworth RFC and a life-member of Barking RFC.
