Coronavirus Update.


The Government has not extended the ability for Parish Councils to hold their meetings remotely so we will have to hold our meeting face to face until further notice.


However, indoor meetings are limited to 6 attendees, and this makes it impossible to hold meetings until the current lockdown restrictions are amended or are ended. This decision is in line with the current recommendations from the Warwickshire & West Midlands Association of Local Councils.


The clerk will be constantly reviewing the situation as new information becomes available. 

Remote Meetings

Avon Dassett Parish Council Remote Meeting Procedures Adopted 5 May 2021


Avon Dassett Parish Council will not be able to hold remote meetings but will now revert to face to face meetings as and when the government restrictions enable us to hold meetings in this format.


However, Avon Dassett Parish Council has with the assistance of WALC been able to develop a hybrid format which will be used as necessary in respect of planning applications. The session will be held via Zoom and will enable the applicants to present their application and residents to share their views with Councillors. Following this the session will be closed and Councillors will then communicate their suggested submission to the Clerk who will, based upon these communications, prepare the submission to the planning authority under delegated authority.


Thos format allows the Parish Council during these difficult times to ensure that we take into account the applicant's comments and the views of residents when we are considering our submission to the planning authority and as importantly operate within the law.

Under the terms of The Transparency code we are required to:


  1. publish the draft minutes from all formal meetings (i.e. full council or board, committee and sub-committee meetings) not later than one month after the meeting has taken place. These minutes should be signed either at the meeting they were taken or at the next meeting. 

  2. publish meeting agendas, which are as full and informative as possible, and associated meeting papers not later than three clear days before the meeting to which they relate is taking place. 


We will always strive to give as much notice as possible for meetings. Agendas and minutes will be published via this wesbite, displayed on the Parish Council noticeboard. In addition subscribers to our internal communication facility will receive an email advising them of the dates for the meeting, or that the respective minutes are available and also giving them a link to the relevant document on this website.


Filming Of Meetings


The right to record, film and to broadcast meetings of the council, committees and sub committees is established following the Local Government Audit and Accountability Act 2014. This is in addition to the rights of the press and public to attend such meetings. For further information regarding these rights please refer to Section 5 of our Non Financial Standing Orders. Anyone exercising these rights will be deemed to have accepted them whether they have read them or not.
